Moderne is a cutting-edge developer platform designed to automate refactoring and analyze codebases across thousands of projects and millions of lines of code. With proprietary technology, it enables accurate, simultaneous code transformations across multiple repositories, empowering users to safely harness AI for code management. As Head of Product Design, I lead design strategy for this 35-person, 5-year-old startup, collaborating closely with the founders to drive feature development. I reimagined a complex, engineer-built platform into an intuitive, user-friendly experience, shaping every aspect of the product—from the platform interface and CLI to documentation.

Product Design Lead Tetrate

Tetrate is a leading enterprise service mesh company that enables a safe and fast application modernization journey for our customers.

As the Lead Product Designer, I am responsible for developing our design language, the User Experience for our flagship product Tetrate Service Bridge, and setting the strategy for the product with leadership. Collaborating in a technical enterprise product landscape with engineering to understand complex technical problems our users face and drive a vision to solve them tactically with design.


Product Design Manager + Design Lead R+D, VMware

As a Product Design manager at VMware I managed the Developer Experience Design team focused on the developer experience for the Tanzu Modern Applications Platform team. Tanzu is a portfolio of products and services by VMware aimed at helping organizations build, run, and manage modern applications on Kubernetes-based infrastructure, whether it's on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments.

I worked with my team of five designers, two managers on all aspects of the developer product, from defining user experience goals and product vision to the granular implementation details. Our user-centered iterative design process helps us learn from our users and continuously improve software. During my tenure I added 7 new members to the design team  - total of 22 product designers in the Developer Experience Program in the Modern Applications Business Unit I managed 3 of the 4 product designers who moved into leadership positions in 2021.

As a design lead, I provided product leadership to multiple product teams. I demonstrated the ability to successfully understand and convey project objectives and mentor and coach teams in discovery efforts, design decisions, and solution delivery.

I was a senior product designer in 2016 and then promoted to staff product designer in 2018. During this time, I supported the entire product UX lifecycle of Concourse, an open-source CI/CD developer tool.

I was responsible for developing visual identity systems, data visualizations, and visual design as well as producing user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and development assets. I worked collaboratively with clients, developers, and designers. We worked in an Agile development focused workflow with an emphasis on user research and rapidly iterative human-centred design and development. I was originally part of Xtreme Labs, which was acquired by Pivotal in 2013.
